Thema: Züchter (?) in Augsburg

Hallo,

gerade bin ich über eine Anzeige gestolpert, bei der ein ungeplanter Basenji-Wurf angekündigt wird. Im BKD find ich keinen Züchter in Augsburg. Weiß jemand um wen es sich hier handelt (seriös oder eher Vermehrer) und ob die Tiere getestet/gesund sind?

nur informativ...i möcht schon mal einen Basenji, aber derzeit gehts noch nicht (ev. in 1-2 Jahren). Es ist nur so, daß man relativ selten Leute findet, die außerhalbvon Verbänden Basenjis züchten (zumindest in Mitteleuropa). Deshalb war ich etwas erstaunt.

ja, es gibt mehrere Züchter in Deutschland, die ######## haben und züchten und nicht Mitglied im ###  sind.

Wenn die Eltern und die Welpen fit und gesund sind, und die Eltern auch gut sozial geprägt sind (also erfahren und gelassen im Umgang mit Menschen und fremden Hunden) dann würde ich das als ###### ansehen.###########################

Schau dir den Züchter genau an, vergleiche auch mehrere Züchter, lasse dir die tierärztlichen Untersuchungen zeigen, mach die einen Eindruck vom Züchter und den Hunden.

Die ###-Züchter unterscheiden sich von den anderen dadurch, dass im ### die Gesundheitsuntersuchungen und
die Mindesthaltungsbedingungen verpflichtend sind.  Das kann man auf der ###-Seite nachlesen.

Weil es eine Entscheidung für die nächsten zehn bis fünfzehn Jahre sind, sollte man sich wirklich
viel Zeit nehmen. Auch mal einen #########  ######## mitnehmen.

Hallo Sonya,

Ich habe nur einen letzte jährige Welp (Rüde) von den Augsburg "Zühter" gesehen hier in München, und die war nicht eine Basenji, ich wollte mich kaufen. Ich war zuerst nicht sicher dass der war reinrassig Basenji oder eine Mischung.

Hier gibt es ein Paar wichtige Fragen einen Züchter sollte erklären. Meine Antworten sind nur für Beisbiel, wie ich habe antwortet von Finnishe Züchter Perspektive. Leider kann ich dass nicht im Deutch übersetzen, aber hoffentlich es hilft, wenn du den Züchter kontakt nehmen wollen.

How long have you been involved with Basenjis?

I have had dogs about 25 years. Ciara is my second basenji after her "big sister" Nala from the same sire. Ciara became for my surprise better than an average breed provided, that's why she has been asked to be breeded. Ciara's pedigree for health issues are well known in 5 generations and the temperament issues for 3-4 generations.


Do you belong any dog clubs, and if so why is it important to you?

I belong to Finnish Kennelclub and Finnish Sighthound Union.
I have been Swedish basenjiclub member two times, but it was too passive organization for me.
I have been an active member of Finnis Basenjiclub since year 2003;
I have been involved with following committees: The arranging committee, The Internet committee, The publishing committee and The racing committee. In addition I have trained obedience and agility for Finnish basenji club memebers.
My motivation is to further knowlede of basenji as an active multifunction dog breed.


Do you show your dogs in conformation or participate in other activities (lure coursing, agility, obedience) with your dog?

My both basenjis have 5 beaty champion titels. Ciara has achieved all her titles with the first try.
They both have been educated with obedience 1. class. In addition, I have done some dog dancing with my older basenji.
My both basenjis have an agility licence and I have a trainer licence for agility.
My both basenjis have track racing and lure coursing licences and they have taken part into competition round the Europe from Finland to France. Ciara is track racing champion of two countries.

Do you health test the Basenjis you’re breeding?

I'm aware of all health problems affecting Basenjis, and I strive not to produce these problems in the pups I breed. I have utilized the best health testing methods available to screen my breeding stock so that I can provide evidence to back up my testing claims. In addition to the normal health tests, I can provide the veterinary records of the dam.


What specific health concerns are behind the sire and dam of your litter? What can you tell me about the siblings and other relatives?

I'm able to talk openly about health and temperament issues I've encountered in my years of owning a basenji, and will be able to tell you how I am working to avoid problems in the future.


How do you select a sire or dam for a litter?

I had a broad range of breeding choice. I first checked the inbreeding coefficients and then selected mates that are a good match genetically and physically.


How many litters do you breed per year?

This will be Ciara's first and last litter. She will be sterilized after the puppies.
Kennel Aittakankaan (FIN) has been breeding since 1977 and had 7 litters, so every 10 years only 2 litters produced! The Kennelname has been transferred to the second generation. VERY SELDOM and DELIBERATELY breeding.


Do you have a waiting list for your upcoming litter?

Yes we have a waiting list of prospective owners, but we will not accept any pre-orders until we are sure that there are right home for the right puppy. The character and look of the puppies will occure from 4 weeks of older, when visitors are welcome.


How long do you keep puppies with their siblings and dam?

Basenji puppies are ready to go home with their new owners when they are eight weeks of age, or older. Ciara's puppies will be delivered by Eastern holidays when they are about 10 weeks old.


How do you socialize your puppies?

By positive experiences with new people, places and animals in order to be well-adjusted adults.
Every puppy will have their own quality time every day. Puppies will be clicker trained beforehand by me.


Do you screen prospective buyers? Will my entire family/household need to visit beforre we can be added to your waiting list?

We will not place a puppy with a person we have never met, or at least corresponded with extensively. If not known beforehand, please be prepared to give references of your current or previous pet kennel. Expect to be asked to visit the breeder’s home if you are within a reasonable distance.
A face-to-face meeting or longer correspondent, where practical, helps the breeder find the best possible match for pups they produce and in the end is for the benefit of you and the puppy.


Do you sell all of your puppies on written contracts, with Finnish Kennelclub registration?

A contract will protect you, the puppy buyer, and clearly state the seller’s expectations. The contract will contain health guarantees as well as the accurate pedigree certificate. The conrtract will include a provision to take the puppy back or help you to find a new home for an adult if you can no longer care for it.


How much do you charge for a puppy?

Basenji breeders charge between 800 euros and 1000 euros (in Finland).

Can you provide me with references from other puppy buyers and Basenji breeders?

Only buy a puppy from a committeed breeders list of Finnish Basenji club, marked by a red dog paw. Never buy a puppy from non-committeed breeder or never ever from the black list = that is those which is not registered in Finnish basenji club available puppies list.
